My grandma would feed the homeless in Iowa during the depression. I’m trying to follow in her footsteps. My other grandma took in kids without homes. Women are amazing!

Good for you!! That is something I would of done...part of the problem is that we forget who took care of is when we were young so now it is our turn to respect and take care of them...God bless you!!!

I am grew in California, in the San Francisco bay area and I help whomever I can...you are right that there are not too many of us in "big cities" but we do exist...it is how your brought up or how good your heart is not where you live...God bless you for being proud of where you come from and I am too...please don't take offense by what I said!!

Love the small hometown feeling!!! My dad taught me the same thing... There was never a stranger! We never locked our doors... Windows wide open! You always gave people the shirts off your back not thinking what's the worst in them. I LOVE MY SMALL TOWN COUNTRY ROOTS!!! EVEN IF WE'RE MADE FUN OF BEING A FARMING COMMUNITY😍

You are right the world DOES need more ppl like her. There are few and far between but I know some ppl like her still exist! I am one of them. I don't have much at all I am on disability, but when I see someone who is in worse shape than I am, I will do whatever I can to help them. I was at Wal-Mart one day and saw a young man yelling at an old couple and cussing at them. I didn't know anything about what was going on but I laid that young man out! This man followed me to my dad's house. my dad was with me that day. Anyway the man followed me, got out of his car, and apologized for his actions. This man could have been crazy and could have done something to me, but I didn't care at the time. All I cared about was that old couple.

really sounds like she was something special. I'm sure she's glad you remember all the people she wanted to help and those she actually did.
it's hard losing one of your parents. I think that God needed them too.
